The young people with disabilities of the town of Sorso, in Sardinia, have a great desire: the renovation of the spaces of their day center "Il Girasole" and the opening of a second center. The Cooperativa Sociale San Damiano, which manages the center promoted by the Comunità Papa Giovanni XXIII, knows that it is an important dream to realize, but with your help the boys can make it happen. Be a brick in this great enterprise, we need you!

A boy with disabilities can spend his day in different ways: at home, deprived of stimuli, with his family left alone to break the monotony of the passing time, or in the company of friends, amid laughter and small important tasks to be done, which increase his self-esteem and self-awareness.
In Sorso (SS), young people from the day care center "Il Girasole," run by the San Damiano Social Cooperative, dress in their best smiles to reach the center that also welcomes those arriving from nearby towns (Sennori, Tergu, Valledoria, Ploaghe, Chiarmonti, Sassari).

In this place they find people and friends who firmly believe in their right to live a life of experience, discovery, relationships and even work. These are the ingredients that make our existences "full," that make us feel loved, important, useful, even. It is thanks to days spent like this that these children (and their families) find joy and and and feel relieved of their difficulties and hardships.
This place is the best part of the small Sardinian town where the dignity of the most fragile is recognized and every life has a precious value. It is an environment of inclusion that is family and cares for the future of its children in a sharing to which we are all called.

Now the urgency is to upgrade the spaces and open a second day care center for job training. For this, the Cooperative has acquired to rent an additional floor of the building and a ground floor to double the reception. A big dream to be realized, but the boys believe that at Christmas it is the biggest wishes that come true!

Despite the funding obtained, an expense of 50,000€ remains uncovered. Contributing means recognizing this Christmas that disabled boys are valuable members of the society to which they belong, which cares for them and recognizes them in their worth.

Every construction is made up of many small and large bricks.
Be a brick in this endeavor! Leave a donation now and recognize the dignity of our boys. Create a collection to involve friends and acquaintances in, and the new center will also be built because of you!
