A special meeting

I met the boys of the day centre in the middle of my adolescence, when listlessness, identity crisis... prevailed over everything. In particular I was struck by the encounter with N. a girl with spastic tetraplegia.N nn walked, nn spoke nn could perform in normal gestures that are part of everyday life of each of us.I was struck by her eyes full of vitality, they were smart and she always laughed.....What was she laughing about?I was curious about N, I was struck by her constant laughter, but at the same time I found it hard to get close to her, perhaps unconsciously I knew that she would have involved me so much.At that time I had chosen to do voluntary community service, to put myself at the service of those young people who attended the Day Centre for a year.At a certain point I had the courage (almost forced) to meet N, a special relationship was created between us.Together we discovered many new things, and she taught me not to give up, to look better at the good that I could give, she helped me to be a better person.I'm sure that many young people who have passed through the day centre x have experiences can tell of a special encounter.I think that the day centre "Il Girasole" of the San Damiano cooperative is an important reference point for the children themselves and their families, but also for many people like me who were just passing through. For these reasons I ask you, together with me, to support this project with a donation and to help me spread the fundraising to enlarge the spaces and give dignity to people with disabilities. Thank you

A special meeting

Fundraising by Zaira Sanna

I met the boys of the day centre in the middle of my adolescence, when listlessness, identity crisis... prevailed over everything.

In particular I was struck by the encounter with N. a girl with spastic tetraplegia.

N nn walked, nn spoke nn could perform in normal gestures that are part of everyday life of each of us.

I was struck by her eyes full of vitality, they were smart and she always laughed.

....What was she laughing about?

I was curious about N, I was struck by her constant laughter, but at the same time I found it hard to get close to her, perhaps unconsciously I knew that she would have involved me so much.

At that time I had chosen to do voluntary community service, to put myself at the service of those young people who attended the Day Centre for a year.

At a certain point I had the courage (almost forced) to meet N, a special relationship was created between us.

Together we discovered many new things, and she taught me not to give up, to look better at the good that I could give, she helped me to be a better person.

I'm sure that many young people who have passed through the day centre x have experiences can tell of a special encounter.

I think that the day centre "Il Girasole" of the San Damiano cooperative is an important reference point for the children themselves and their families, but also for many people like me who were just passing through.

For these reasons I ask you, together with me, to support this project with a donation and to help me spread the fundraising to enlarge the spaces and give dignity to people with disabilities. Thank you

The Cooperativa Sociale San Damiano, which manages the center promoted by the Comunità Papa Giovanni XXIII, knows that it is an important dream to realize, but with your help the boys can make it happen.
