Let's help the GiraGirasole center stay open

The GiraGirasole Community Center, founded as an initiative of the Pope John XXIII Community, has been operating since 2012 in the heart of the Marche region, in Fano, in the province of Pesaro-Urbino. Its goal has always been to offer young people with disabilities a space where they can express themselves and grow. Now they need your help to raise the €30,000 needed to cover the costs of additional educators, who are essential for guiding each young person and helping them realize their full potential.

A center to help young people with disabilities flourish
The GiraGirasole Community Center, supported by the Pope John XXIII Community, has been operating since 2012 in the heart of the Marche region, in Fano, in the province of Pesaro-Urbino.

It was created to address a specific need in the area: to fill the gap in after-school spaces where young people with disabilities could be supported and empowered. The goal has always been to provide a peaceful environment where participants can build meaningful relationships and follow personalized paths of growth. To make this possible, GiraGirasole offers educational, recreational, and expressive programs, with activities ranging from swimming and dance to creative workshops and nature walks.

Currently, the center is open year-round to children and young people ages 9 to 26, offering a valuable space where everyone can express themselves and grow.

Without the educators, this vital resource is at risk of closing
Despite the Community’s commitment—which covers all operational expenses (rent, utilities, and facility management)—and the generous contributions from families toward activities, the center is facing financial difficulties. Without concrete support, the continuity of this invaluable service is at serious risk starting in September 2026.
At the heart of the programs offered by GiraGirasole is the constant and dedicated presence of the educators—key figures who know how to listen, guide, and bring out the potential in every child. To ensure this irreplaceable presence, they now need to raise €30,000 to cover the costs of additional educators, including one full-time staff member.

Your help is essential to prevent the disruption of growth pathways built up over the years, which would leave an unbridgeable void for the children and their families.

You can support this project in two ways:
  • Donate to an existing personal fundraiser: any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference.
  • If you’d like to make an even bigger impact, start your own personal fundraiser and help us reach many new people we wouldn’t otherwise be able to reach by asking your friends, family, and colleagues to support you with a donation.
