Everyone on the cargo-bike! In Ireland, witnesses of love towards the last ones

Giada and Matteo, mother and father of a family of the Pope John XXIII Community, live their vocation in Ireland, together with their 3 children Filippo, Paolo and Anna. Walking is their preferred means of transport but sometimes it is necessary to move faster: for this they need an electric cargo-bike. Let's help them to buy this means of transport suitable for their children and which also protects the environment!

Giada and Matteo have been part of the Pope John XXIII Community for 8 years, and from the very beginning they felt a missionary calling to leave to be near the poor and live with them. This drive led them to Zambia and they left together with their son Filippo, adopted when he was only a few months old. Filippo has Down syndrome but this was never an obstacle on the contrary, in a land so far from Italy he managed to establish real and deep contacts with those he met, despite the few tools he had at his disposal.
After the 2-year experience in Zambia, the family returned to Italy and expanded: they adopted first Paolo, with mental retardation caused by brain hemorrhages, and then little Anna, also with Down syndrome. However, the need for the mission returns to "creep" into their hearts, and in 2019 they leave for Ireland to witness and show what lies beyond disability, in a country where it is often seen not as an asset but as a social stigma.

In Waterford, southern Ireland, Matthew works as a laborer in an industrial butcher shop and Giada is a full-time mom. For them, moving with their 3 children is not always so easy: it takes alert eyes and ready legs. For small daily trips (taking the children to school, going to the supermarket, to the doctor, to the park) walking is their preferred means of transportation, because it does not pollute and allows Philip, Paul and Anna to get to know better the new places where they live.
Sometimes, however, it is essential to move faster, and an alternative means is needed. Giada and Matteo want to buy an electric cargo-bike:they have seen a model that can carry up to 6 children, or the three toddlers, school backpacks and shopping bags. The children would have a lot of fun, being more in touch with nature and, at the same time, sitting safely and protected from rain and wind.
4,680 euros are needed to purchase this bike. It will be equipped with electric battery, rain cover curtain, specific seat for 2-year-old child, seat belts, bench cushions.

Create and start a fundraiser, share it with your acquaintances and friends, or support those who have already opened it with a donation. Let's help them together to buy this means of transportation that also respects and protects the environment!
