The right to grow up among loving care

Hello I am Ester,I have known the Pope John XXIII Community for many years and of children reborn thanks to the love and care of the families of this association I know many, some who have become adults and, in turn, distributors of affection.A few years ago I participated in sharing camps in Romania, for many summers I spent a few weeks in Bucharest doing animation in an institution for minors with disabilities. One of those places that, especially in your twenties, you think cannot exist, where the situation of relational and emotional neglect (basic needs were met) had so compromised the growth of children and young people that they spent their time self-consoling, rocking and with other stereotypes. All other skills were almost impaired and, with many, almost impossible to relate to, they just did not have the abc necessary to interface with another human being. This lent strength to university studies in developmental psychology, according to which a child needs to receive attention and consideration, to be loved, understood, and to be able to express its physical and emotional needs to the adult, who, in turn, will need to be able to recognize, respond to, and meet them in order to grow in harmony. So here I am asking for your help to support the "Take Me Home" project - aimed at children with disabilities - that the Community wants to start in Lombardy, to guarantee the right of every child to be taken in by a family, so they can grow up with love.Dai Ci Stai? Hello I am Ester,

I have known the Pope John XXIII Community for many years and of children reborn thanks to the love and care of the families of this association I know many, some who have become adults and, in turn, distributors of affection.

A few years ago I participated in sharing camps in Romania, for many summers I spent a few weeks in Bucharest doing animation in an institution for minors with disabilities.

So here I am asking for your help to support the "Take Me Home" project - aimed at children with disabilities - that the Community wants to start in Lombardy, to guarantee the right of every child to be taken in by a family, so they can grow up with love.

The fundraiser supports the project: Take Me Home: a project to give a family to children with disabilities
Total project goal: 20.000 €

The "Take Me Home" project promotes the right of every child to live in a family, including children with serious illnesses or disabilities. Initially launched in Piedmont, now the Pope John XXIII Community wants to extend the project to Lombardy, and to do so it needs resources (€20,000). Through awareness raising and support actions it is possible to give hope and a better future to children with disabilities, in need of care and love. With your help we can build stories with happy endings for these fragile children.
