A new car to experience the future with greater autonomy and inclusion
Franco and Giovanna are the dad and mom of the "Santa Chiara" Family Home, a shelter of the Pope John XXIII Community, which currently gives loving care to six boys with disabilities. Now they need your help to raise the €13,000 needed to buy a new car and offer their children the opportunity to attend recreational activities and medical visits in centers far from home.
Franco and Giovanna are the father and mother of the Santa Chiara Family House, a welcoming reality of the Pope John XXIII Community, located in Scicli, in the province of Ragusa. In their home they have welcomed fragile but also very strong boys and children: 22-year-old Ilary, 19-year-old Giacomo, 17-year-old Chiaretta, 12-year-old M. and two 5-year-old little brothers who are curious and always ready to explore the world.
For Franco and Giovanna, their children are a most precious gift: every day they try to take the best care of them, making them participate in all those activities that can help them in their development. Now, however, they need your help in order to be able to purchase a new car, which is essential for them to be able to ensure that their boys can continue on their path of growth.
In particular, the new car will be needed by Giacomo, who has just finished school and needs to be able to attend a specialized center for autistic boys 45 kilometers from home, which is an opportunity for him to gain more independence and be able to interact with other boys.
In addition to Giacomo, the other boys also need a safe vehicle so that they can participate in sports activities, such as soccer school for boys with disabilities, do rehabilitative therapies and medical visits to centers far from home.
The cost of the new car is €13,000; achieving this goal means giving these boys the chance to rewrite their future and gain the autonomy and inclusion they deserve. With your help, we are confident that we can help them.
Franco and Giovanna got to know the Pope John XXIII Community in 2009 and fell in love with its mission: to share life with the least, with those who are marginalized and with those who are looking for a second chance.
In the Community they rediscovered the power of family love: a love that cares, a love that supports and welcomes, offering everyone the chance to feel part of something. That is why they decided to open the doors of their home and become a Family Home, putting their love and family at the service of those who need it most.
Today they welcome six young people with disabilities, whose frailty teaches Franco and Giovanna to love unconditionally every day.
With a donation you can support their project and allow them to continue to offer their boys a full life full of possibilities. Thank you!
- Donate to an already active personal fundraiser: any contribution, even the smallest, will make a difference.
- If, on the other hand, you want to do something even bigger, activate a personal fundraiser and help us engage many new people we otherwise could not reach by asking your friends, family and colleagues to support you with a donation.
You can also donate by bank transfer or postal bulletin.
