A minibus for Daisy Kumwenda
After miles and miles, the Kumwenda family bus broke down. The time has come to buy a new bus. Help them buy a new one.
We are Daisy and Fred, we live in Zambia and together with us and our two natural daughters, live two sisters, Amolina and Paxina, Lubuto, Esther and Emmanuel. Many years ago we chose to become an Open Family of the Pope John XXIII Community, because we believe that every child has the right to have a special place in the heart of a mother and father.
When we move around, we look like a caravan, with school books, changes and shopping bags. Only one bus can accommodate us all but the one we use has suffered a lot of damage and repairs are very expensive. A short time ago it broke down for good and for many days we have not been able to reach the city centre; taking the children to school or doing the shopping have become impossible activities.
We urgently need a minibus because we live far from the city, in a rural area and moving around is complicated and expensive. The Community already takes care of our daily needs, as it does for more than 500 houses like ours, but alone cannot sustain this sudden expense. This is why we are asking for the help of people close to us and friends. That's why we are asking for your support.
Your help is fundamental: the more of us there are, the sooner we will make it!
