A bus to embrace life
Bruno and Tiziana are part of the Pope John XXIII Community and in their family home "Caress of God" they welcome anyone who needs to be loved. Now they need your help to buy a bus suitable for transporting a wheelchair to be able to drive Luca, who has paraplegia, to school, and also all the other children with disabilities in the municipality where they live and in the neighboring town. Support their project and help them reach the €20,000 needed!
Bruno and Tiziana have been part of the Pope John XXIII Community for more than 20 years. Already as engaged couples, united by the same vocation, they had decided that their family would be different from the others; it would be a place where anyone could feel welcomed and loved. It was Don Oreste himself, on their wedding day, who entrusted him with Evelina, who from the beginning was a true caress from God for them: Caress like her last name and then like the name they chose for the family home. Evelina, with her strength and charisma, drew the path of Bruno and Tiziana's life, who then decided to leave their family open to take in all the little ones and those in need that the Lord was sending them.
Today they share life with 8 other children and 5 of them have severe disabilities. The children's ages range from 17 to 36. Together they form a team always ready to support each other and face any difficulties! There are many commitments and rounds to do on a daily basis, and to these are added those reserved for the frail people whom Bruno and Tiziana take in. In addition, for about five years their family has been organizing school transportation both for their children and for other disabled children in Mondavio (PU), the municipality where they live, and for another neighboring town.
Starting next year, Luca from the group home, who has paraplegia but excellent intellectual capacity, will also begin his high school career and will have to use this transportation. However, the vehicle the home currently has is not equipped to accommodate a wheelchair.
The Community, which already takes care of so many families like Bruno and Tiziana's, is only able to cover half of the expense required to purchase a vehicle suitable for the needs of the home. With your help, however, we can help the "Caress of God" family home raise the remaining part, €20,000, thus managing to buy a 7-seater van, used but in excellent condition, that can transport people with disabilities not only from the home but from the whole area.
