A new minibus for the Don Oreste Benzi Hut.
La Capanna Don Oreste Benzi, a shelter reality of the Papa Giovanni XXIII Community needs your help to raise the €22,000 needed to purchase a new minibus, indispensable to accompany the acolytes both for the various daily activities of social and labor reintegration and to make the medical examinations they need. Your help is invaluable. Thank you!
In Farigliano (CN), in the complex of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Grace of Mellea, the Don Oreste Benzi Hut has become a well-established reality, a true reference point for many, designed to welcome the poor, the less fortunate and give them a family.
The facility currently houses 25 people who find themselves in conditions of poverty, loneliness and fragility, who here find not only a roof under which to shelter, but also a place where they can feel welcome and protected.
Everyone has their own tasks, according to their abilities and conditions, just like in a real family: there are those who do the cleaning, those who do the cooking, those who do the laundry, and those who do the shopping. Everyone feels useful, and everyone's work is crucial to everyone's well-being.
Those who are taken in also find in the hut the possibility of receiving accompaniment both for the various daily activities carried out, such as attending training courses and going to social cooperatives in the area, and for making the medical and specialist visits they need, such as Luigi, now dialyzed, who after spending years working hard, overwhelmed by adverse circumstances and illness, has found himself living on the street. Despite everything, he tries to face life bravely, but his poor health requires him to make frequent visits to the hospital.
Therefore, there is an urgent need to find a suitable and safe minibus, because the one he has is now heavily worn and requires constant maintenance expenses that are no longer sustainable.
The cost of a new minibus is 22,000€. With your support, we can help them achieve this important goal and improve the quality of life of the people taken in, ensuring that they can rebuild their future and take care of their health.
- Donate to an already active personal fundraiser: any contribution, even the smallest, will make a difference.
- If, on the other hand, you want to do something even bigger, activate a personal fundraiser and help us engage many new people we otherwise could not reach by asking your friends, family and colleagues to support you with a donation.
