We renovate the Maria Chiara Family Home to safely welcome
The 'Maria Chiara' family home, a shelter reality of the Pope John XXIII Community, needs your help to raise €18,000 needed to replace fixtures, essential to make the house more welcoming and safe for all those who find shelter there. Help them too!
The "Maria Chiara" family home of Anna Ida and Pasquale has been present in Savignano since 1998.
Over these years, the family home has opened its door to children and young people who have had the opportunity to grow up here in a family and serene environment, but also to families in need of help, volunteers, young scouts, young people in community service, young people recovering from drug addiction and young women seeking liberation from the slavery of sexual exploitation.
Currently, in the home the coexistence of people with different ages and life histories has created an environment of continuous cultural exchanges and experiences that can enrich the daily lives of all family members.
Every day they live a life made up of sharing, where everyone has their own experience and their own educational and rebirth project to follow, always united as a true family, both in joys and difficulties.
The family currently lives in a house built in 1960, which is in need of various maintenance works, the most urgent of which is the replacement of the window frames.
The window frames have already been repaired several times, but now they need to be changed because they are too worn, some, even, do not hold water during rain, which enters the house going to wet walls and floors.
Theamount needed to replace them is €18,000 and the Community, which already takes care of the many family homes, is unable to meet this expense at this time. To reach the total goal, your help is essential. Every donation, whether large or small, can really make a difference. With your support, we can succeed in making the home not only warmer and drier, but also more welcoming and safe for all those who find shelter there.
