Operation Dove in Syria and Lebanon - 2026
Operation Dove volunteers share life and work alongside Syrian refugees in refugee camps in Lebanon. Since 2024, they have also started making periodic trips to Syria to monitor the situation. Supporting volunteers, helping and protecting them, means still believing in the strength of relationships and the peace that comes from staying close and dreaming together.
Since 2013, Operation Dove has lived alongside Syrians in refugee camps in Lebanon.
Since 2024, with the fall of the Assad regime, volunteers also began making periodic trips to Syria to monitor the situation, support Syrians who decided to return and those who never left.
Beginning in late 2025, while continuing to keep the situation in Lebanon monitored (with periodic presences between the Akkar refugee camps and the local Shining in Peace Association school), Operation Dove opened a fixed presence in Syria, in the Qusayr area near Homs.
From there, the volunteers and female volunteers monitor the return of families and act as facilitators of dialogue (especially between the Muslim and Christian communities), in a context of destruction and reconstruction challenges.
The presence of volunteers and female volunteers is very important: they live 24 hours a day in direct sharing with civilians who have endured a long and bloody conflict; they offer initial support to the poorest Syrian families; they create moments of encounter to ease tensions and foster dialogue between the different communities; they organize moments of entertainment and animation for children; and they collect useful testimonies to monitor and denounce violations of Human Rights.
Support volunteers and women volunteers in Syria and Lebanon to stand by Syrians and build Peace together with them.
