Emergency Boundaries

The volunteers of Operazione Colomba, the Nonviolent Peace Corps of the Comunità Papa Giovanni XXIII, monitor the emergency situations that occur, in an increasingly frequent and dramatic way, along the borders of Europe. Let us support them so that they can continue to bring humanity and hope.

Along the borders of Europe is consumed the tragedy of thousands of refugees fleeing from emergencies, persecution and war and a total lack of future.

They knock on our door asking for dignity and rights, but Europe has chosen to close itself, willing to violate the European laws on the Right of Asylum and humanitarian assistance, the army has been deployed and the refugees have been rejected.

Thousands of people, for example, are stuck along the Belarus-Polish border right now, forced to survive in the forest in zero degrees, braving snow and rain and, often, facing death.

To avoid all this, Operazione Colomba's volunteers are present along the borders of the countries involved in the migrants' routes with monitoring actions: between Poland and the Baltic countries, in the Mediterranean at the gates of Greece and Italy, on the island of Lesbos (Greece), along the Balkan route.

Volunteers bring help and support to these lonely and abandoned people, but above all they bring their voice and their determination to denounce this situation. Only through sharing, solidarity and humanity is it possible to change things.

Support, in this moment of emergency, their presence in these border areas. Become, with them, a guardian of hope!
