A life gym that needs you

The CEC "Casa Madre della Speranza" is a reality of the Pope John XXIII Community, which welcomes young people who, after a cognitive path carried out in prison, have been allowed to serve their sentence in an alternative way, because the thought at the base of the CEC, following the words of Don Oreste Benzi, is that "man is not his own mistake. "I, together with my husband Pietro, have been an operator here in the CEC of Forlì since2018 , that is, since its opening. Since then more than 50 people from the prison have passed through who have spent sometimes a few months or several years with us.Here people share their experiences and tend to face together everything that life presents. Very deep relationships are experienced. The Gospel is our instruction manual for living in joy, even when there is so much pain that only together, with a path, can be overcome.The young people we take in, in addition to various educational and work activities in the area, are accompanied both to the medical examinations they need and to job interviews and meetings with social workers, which are essential for them to be able to reintegrate into society. To enable all these activities, a car is needed, costing 8,000 euros and which we alone cannot purchase.If there are many of us, we can achieve this goal!I have decided to do my part because as a worker I know that this house is a Gymnasium of Life that can transform you: I have experienced it on myself, so I wish it could also be so for many other people who find their way here.
