Support the Village of Joy together with me!
Fundraising by Chiara Ghetti
My name is Chiara and I have been part of the Pope John XXIII Community since 2012. I have never met Don Oreste in person, but I have been able to see up close the works he left us. In fact, I got to know the Community thanks to the Village of Joy where, in 2011, I did my year of Civil Service, and from there the curiosity to learn more about the Community was born in me. In the following years, I had various hosting experiences in different realities but eventually returned to the Village, where today I share my day and then return home, playing a coordinating role.
Returning to the Village after years, I have been able to observe the evolution that has taken place: from being composed of "only" three family houses to becoming a real village, with even the building to accommodate family units in difficulty, moms and dads together with their children.
Unfortunately, good will and loving people are not enough to be able to take in and concretely help those in need, but continuous updates, skills and professional knowledge are also needed to intervene in the best possible way.
This is why wewant to organize training courses that give us new tools to better handle the most critical family situations. These courses entail a cost that the Community cannot bear at the moment, also because several maintenance needs have also arisen here at the Village for the three Family Homes (such as the purchase of a new kitchen and the replacement of fixtures and doors), along with the repair of the car that we use for all our movements.
I, too, like the other people who share their lives at the Village of Joy, have decided to do my part in helping to find the resources to support these costs, which total 15,000 euros.
Today I ask you to help me with a donation, whether small or large, because only together can we ensure that the Village of Joy can continue to be a safe and rebirthful place for more and more people.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
