The stories of the last on the streets of Rimini
Fundraising by Nicolò e Giada
Thepeople I meet every day on the streets of Rimini - together with the volunteers of the Comunità Papa Giovanni XXIII - have particular stories: like that of Hin, a Chinese boy with various illnesses, abandoned in hospital by his family because he was considered a burden, since he could no longer work. Alone and without anyone, where could he have gone? We took him home with us and now he lives in our Bethlehem Hut. We give him all the care he needs, we stay close to him and he knows he can count on us.
Like him, as a result of the pandemic, many people have ended up on the streets - due to lack of connections or work - and we try to keep them with us for as long as possible, so they can stay in a safe place, far from the risks of the virus. There are a lot of them though and we can't take them all in, many we continue to help them during the week when we go out on the streets. We bring them food, comfort items and chat with them. We try to meet their needs but we would like to do even more.
We need your help: support the Pope John XXIII Community's One Meal a Day campaign and donate a meal to those who need it most in Rimini and throughout Italy. Your contribution is important for us and for them!
Thank you!
