A safer and more affordable car for Valentino and Roberta's family
Valentino and Roberta are the father and mother of the Family House Our Lady of Peace, a shelter of the Pope John XXIII Community, which since 2001 has been giving love to children and people often suffering from severe disabilities. Now they need your help to raise the €20,000 needed to buy a car that will allow them to transport a wheelchair and allow older people to get in and out without the use of lifts.
Valentino and Roberta are the father and mother of the Family House Our Lady of Peace, a welcoming reality of the Pope John XXIII Community, located in Tolentino since 2004, in the province of Macerata.
In addition to their natural children, Alessia, Federico and Ilaria, and adopted children Giulio and Sirin, two boys with disabilities, the home welcomes other people with various frailties: 86-year-old Letizia in a wheelchair, 82-year-old Vincenzo with psychiatric and motor disorders, 25-year-old Giuseppe, and, temporarily, 60-year-old Monica, who is undergoing a family home sharing experience.
For Valentino and Roberta, their family is an invaluable gift: every day they also take care of it by accompanying their children and the welcomed people to the various commitments of daily life. Now, however, they need your help to be able to purchase a car that can replace the current Doblò they have, which, having exceeded 380,000km, is no longer reliable for demanding trips.
Several times during the year it happens that the whole family has to travel long distances as well, so they would like to purchase a safe and accessible seven-seater vehicle that will allow them to load a wheelchair and allow older people to get on board easily, without the use of lifts.
The cost of the car is 20,000€: with your help we are confident that we can achieve this goal and give Valentino and Roberta's family the opportunity to reach any destination, even all together, with the serenity they deserve.
Together Valentino and Roberta have faced many challenges, such as the 2016 earthquake that deeply wounded their land and made their home temporarily uninhabitable. Despite many moments of discouragement, they found the courage to fight back. It was their love for their boys that made the difference: it gave them the strength they needed to start over and get back on their feet.
