A minibus for the Family Home "Nazareth".

The "Nazareth" Family Home of the Pope John XXIII Community needs a new bus to enable all the people in its care to carry out their normal daily activities. The needs of 9 children, both natural and welcomed, are many and the bus they are using has become old and worn out. After 10 years of "living it to the fullest" it is time to retire it and buy one that will guarantee safety in all movements.

We are Fabio and Monica, dad and mom from the Family House "Nazareth" of the Pope John XXIII Community and we live in Masiera di Bagnacavallo (RA).
Our desire to be a family for those who do not have one was born a long time ago, after a volunteer experience in a Therapeutic Community, a place that helps young people with addictions to break free from them and start over. Breathing in their frailty, we realized that we, too, wanted to open our doors to anyone who was lonely and lost.
That's how we came to be 11 in the family home: in addition to us and our 6 children - Francesco, Alina, Samuele, Letizia, Cecilia and Chiara - there are now 3 young people from difficult situations and with difficult family histories behind them. Here in the family home, loved and supported, they are finding a new balance and new points of reference.
As you can imagine, our life is really busy!
With so many children still minors (and not autonomous) the daily commute is a lot. As in any family living in the province, we have to drive the kids to school, to three different towns, and then in the afternoons each to do his or her own sport. This alone involves traveling many kilometers every day. In addition, there are the specific needs of the boys we take in, given their particular problems: speech and psychological sessions, training sessions, appointments and medical examinations, often far from home.
You will understand that for our life and for the needs of our boys to have a safe and suitable means of transportation for everyone is indispensable, and that is why we are asking for your help to support this project.
Our minibus has withstood this hectic pace for 10 years, accompanied us every day, but now it is worn out and in danger of becoming unsafe. About 24,000 euros are needed to buy a new one, an amount that the Pope John XXIII Community cannot face lightly, since there are more than 500 families and shelters like ours that experience the same needs as we do.
This is why we have chosen to commit ourselves and try every avenue to help the Community. In the coming weeks we will do everything we can to raise the amount needed to purchase the bus, and we hope that many of you will be willing to help us.
You will be able to do so by making a donation or, even better, by opening your own personal fundraiser as well, involving your friends and acquaintances to contribute a portion of the amount, as much as you would like.
We wholeheartedly trust in your generosity. We really need a capacious and safe vehicle for all of us to be able to move daily and travel all together.
