A minibus for the "Condominio Solidale" of Fossano

In these days of health emergency, the "Condominio Solidale" of Fossano, which also houses the "San Paolo" Family Home of the Pope John XXIII Community, needs a new minibus equipped for the disabled in order to be even closer to fragile people and to allow guests with reduced mobility to move around safely.

Almost a year ago, the Opera Diocesana of Fossano finished the renovation and made the "Divina Provvidenza" building available for the reception of the Family House "San Paolo" of the Pope John XXIII Community and to allow the birth of a Solidarity Condominium composed of 10 lodgings.
To support the purchase of the kitchen and for the setting up of the gymnasium for sports and physiotherapy activities, as the Family House of the Pope John XXIII Community, we started a fundraising campaign on this platform. Thanks to the help of many people, we reached the goal and managed to buy everything we needed.
Today in the Condominio Solidale "Divina Provvidenza," in addition to our Family House "San Paolo," live about 40 people: elderly parents with differently abled children who find themselves in a context where they receive help from everyone to manage daily life, a young married couple with a newborn baby girl taking her first steps in married life, adults with severe disabilities who are experiencing a path of independent living, young people who choose to live here to share their lives with the last ones... and many other life experiences.
And during this year, how much "life" has passed and how many people have allowed us to enter their lives out of need, out of talk, out of growth, thanks to the youth we help, out of confrontation, thanks to the scout groups that visit us.
Condominium life allows us to experience the family atmosphere in a different but equally valuable way and thus enriches our spirit.
We realize that the sharing of life is truly a gift, even more so in these days so disrupted by the current health emergency: we help each other and stay even closer to the fragile people to protect them and keep them from leaving home, assisting them in their daily needs.
Being in 40, however, also involves constant travel for everyone's commitments and needs. The bus we have is now very old and unsafe, and the cars are not suitable for transporting people with severe motor disabilities who live here and need to get to hospitals for visits.
The "Condominio Solidale" needs a bus equipped to transport people with disabilities and as we have already done in the past months, we want to do everything to raise the amount needed to purchase it and we want to do it again through this modality, asking you to support us in this project by creating fundraisers to contribute as well.
We are dreamers, but we know that with your help we can turn the dream into reality.
The cost is €39,000, we have already received a contribution of €5,000 from the Diocese of Fossano, €20,000 from the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Fossano, a deliberate contribution of €2,500 from Bene Banca, and €4,000 from another donor...but it is not enough.
10,000€ is missing for the purchase of the minibus, and to reach it we rely on you, who have already once chosen to support our family. If we manage to reach 15,000€ we will be able to do even more and also add an additional aid for the disabled.
Never more than in these weeks do we realize how important it is to live thinking of the good of others, of those most fragile. We still need you! Thank you.
