Concrete help for the future of children in Zambia

This year, during the rainy season, one of the Pope John XXIII Community's Nutrition Centers in Ndola, Zambia, suffered the collapse of one of the walls. In order to rebuild it, €5,000 is needed. With your help, we can reach this goal and enable the center to continue offering a service that makes a difference in the lives of so many children every day.

Ensuring safe shelter for many families in need

The Rainbow Project initiated in Zambia by the Pope John XXIII Community has been working on child malnutrition since 1998. Today it coordinates 12 Nutrition Centers that, each year, assist an average of more than 1,000 children between the ages of 6 months and 5 years.

This year, during the rainy season, one of the project's Nutrition Centers, located in Maria Chimona in the area bordering the Democratic Republic of Congo, suffered severe damage. In the compound, where housing is precarious and built with poor materials, the structure that houses mothers during the center's activities suffered the collapse of one of the walls.

Volunteers working at the center decided to launch this fundraiser to intervene immediately and thus make the center safe and welcoming again. This is the only way to continue offering nutritional, health and educational support to the mothers and their children. We need €5,000 to rebuild the wall and allow the center to function at full capacity again.

Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to this goal. Together we can return a safe, welcoming and full place to those who need it most and ensure the safety and continuity of a service that makes a difference in the lives of so many families every day.

A hope for a better tomorrow
The Rainbow Project was created with the goal of providing a meal, a family, education and above all, a hope for a better tomorrow to many lonely children and families in need.

Within the project, children are followed with great care and attention. Their health and nutritional status are monitored regularly through a series of targeted checkups. Each of them is offered constant nutritional support designed to help them fully recover their strength and health.

But the project's focus is not limited only to the children: mothers and guardians are also involved in training. Hygiene classes and hands-on cooking demonstrations are organized to teach them the correct ways to prepare and cook food, thus offering tools to take better care of their families.
