Ready to take flight

E. was only 17 when her parents sold her and forced her to go to Italy. Mistreated and forced to sell her body, she found hope again when she was welcomed into the Family House of Fabrizio and Raffaella of the Pope John XXIII Community. She is now 23 years old, has two children and is ready to build a family of her own in a new home. But she can't do it alone: only your help can really help her to look to the future with more serenity.

E. was only 17 when her parents sold her and forced her to reach Italy: at that age, according to them, she was old enough to earn and contribute financially to the family. E.'s journey to our country passes through Libya and we all, unfortunately, know what happens in those border areas: you are treated like an object, imprisoned, tortured.
Her nightmare did not end even when, now exhausted, she arrived in Italy. In this free, democratic, civilized country, E., little more than a child, was put on the street, deprived of everything and forced to sell her body to unscrupulous clients.
She became pregnant and in this new life growing inside her found the courage to escape her oppressors. E. needed a real home, a place where she could feel safe, and people who would help her build a future-she needed a family .
Fabrizio and Raffaella, who have been part of the Pope John XXIII Community for more than 20 years, welcomed her into their Family House in Alexandria, as they had done with so many before her, opening the doors of their home and their hearts to her.
E. is now 23 years old and 2 wonderful children. Now her eyes shine with a powerful light, the light of a child turned woman who has regained her dignity and, step by step, is designing her life.
Thanks to her willpower, she managed to get a work grant paid with 300 euros a month. Fabrizio and Raffaella are still by her side , but the time has come for this young woman to stand on her own two feet, as many people her age wish to do. She and her children, however, still need a little help, one last "push" to take flight with confidence.
Alone and on her 300 euros a month, she cannot afford to rent an apartment in which to finally build a family of her own, but we can help her.
So we are asking you to help us raise at least 6,000 euros to cover the rent of an apartment for one year and to support the initial expenses of this new family. That's 500 euros a month.

Bygiving her concrete help today, support to lean on -- what a parent tries to ensure for his or her children when they are entering life for the first time -- we will enable her to look to the future with more serenity. Your help, can really change this mom's life. Let's help her together.
