Every month, during the last five days, there is a window open on the future. On those days a plane arriving from Lebanon may land at Fiumicino. On that plane there may be two Syrian families that we have known for years: mothers, fathers, children, elderly people who escaped the bombs that fell on their homes and who for years have been forced to live in a refugee camp on the border between Lebanon and Syria.
These two families are ready to leave and we have already found two houses for them, but it's not enough, we need to find the economic resources for their maintenance: we need € 1,500 per month to allow these mothers, fathers and children to integrate, find a job and find life again. At least until the war is over and they cannot return home. Like them, many other families are waiting for that moment. The last 5 days of every month we can save them, we can get them on that plane and take them away from that place of poverty and misery. This can only happen if we have the necessary resources, only if you also decide to help them.
Since 2013 we have been living with them, like them. Yet they should be the ones to live like us: a safe home, in a place where hygienic conditions don't put their children's lives at risk, where children can play without having to run from the military between the tents in the camp. We have seen so many Syrians born, die, leave, hope, cry and get indignant but never give up. We can't give up either because we can get them to safety. We just need your help.
