A network of solidarity in the streets of Forlì
Fundraising by Jonatha Ricci
I, together with the volunteers of the Bethlehem Shelter in Forlì, have seen the negative effects that the lockdown has had on all fragile and vulnerable people. Those who lost their jobs found themselves alone, with the risk of ending up on the streets. We have been close to them, concretely helping them to recover from their difficult situations. We continue to meet people on the streets who no longer have a home, who don't have anything to eat, and this is why we, the Pope John XXIII Community, have not stopped even in the face of the health emergency. On the contrary, with the support of the municipality, Caritas and the association of volunteer doctors Salute e Solidarietà, we have created a network that can help us to welcome as many people as possible into our hut, in compliance with the anti-Covid measures, so that we can give them a safe place, far from the risk of being infected. But there are still now so many people on the streets in and around the city without food or a bed to sleep in.
Help me support the Pope John XXIII Community's One Meal a Day campaign: donate a meal to those in need in Forlì and all over Italy. Your contribution is important for each and every one of them.
Thank you!
