One car... one vehicle for many smiles 🙃
Fundraising by Marta Scarso
Hi!
I'm Marta, a volunteer with the Pope John XXIII Community who last year participated in the project in Puerto Madryn, Patagonia Argentina, with the aim of making the summer of the local children more magical! That project consists of a 'colonia de verano,' or a summer youth camp where children - who come from very poor families - can try their hand at manual and play activities, getting to know each other and learning about places and stories that are new and different from their own.
The children live on the outskirts of this country and we volunteers, the help of Maurizio - the person in charge - offer to pick them up and take them to the place where the activities will take place because they do not have the possibility to reach the center independently: until last year we used to go with a small bus that we have renovated to the best of our ability, but this year we would like to buy and use a new car, so that we can bring more and more childrento let them live this experience of growth and fun, which is indispensable for children growing up in such poor contexts.
That is why I decided to help Mauri in this proposal, also asking for the help of all of you so that the many children who do not have the possibility to move can come with us and experience a few weeks of smiles and spontaneity!
One car can make a difference to many children and one car can be the means to a thousand smiles 🙃
