A home for all of us

I am Madou Yanka, originally from Sierra Leone. I arrived in Italy in 2005, accepted by the Pope John XXIII Community, in the Family House of Anna and Paolo Tonelotto in Cittadella (PD).For over 15 years this has been my family, where I have been able to live a serene life after the great drama I experienced in Sierra Leone, where my family of origin was exterminated by rebels, right in front of my eyes, in the bloody diamond war. Thehouse where I currently live is beginning to feel the weight of the life I have shared over the last 35 years, and Paolo and Anna, my new parents, have to do some essential work: the water system, including the sewage system, and the reconstruction of the courtyard, which has become dangerous for the many disabled people who live in the family home. Even I personally, having difficulty walking, often risk falling. There are currently 9 people living in the family home, 6 of whom are handicapped. I kindly ask you to contribute to the collection of funds needed for the work that needs to be done in the structure. Any contribution, even small, is welcome and will be useful. I trust in the help of many of you who know me, to be able to help my family to finish these essential works as soon as possible.A big hug.MadouYou can also donate through:BANKTRANSFERIAN Ibancode: IT 04X 030 6909 6061 0000 0008 036Owned to: Associazione Comunità Papa Giovanni XXIII - Attività ONLUSCausale: 21R003 Casa Famiglia TonelottoPOSTAL BOLLET Paymentto the following bank account: c/c n. 12148417Ownedto: Associazione Comunità Papa Giovanni XXIII - Attività ONLUSCausale: 21R003 Casa Famiglia Tonelotto

Paolo and Anna have been sharing their lives with the poor for more than 30 years, becoming a family for whoever is welcomed into their home. As in every family history, now it is urgent and necessary to "take care" of the house, fixing what the years have worn out and starting the necessary maintenance and adjustment works. With your help and thanks to you, Paolo and Anna will be able to continue to give themselves to the most fragile in a place that respects their needs.
