A roof for all
Fundraising by Massimiliano Scimé
Hello everyone, I am Massimiliano, as many of you know I am a volunteer with the Pope John XXIII Community Association and for years I have chosen to share the values of the Community alongside those who live on the margins of society. This has allowed me to get to know various realities in different countries and right now I am in Santiago de Chile in the comuña of Penalolen.
Iam serving at the Comedor (social cafeteria) a space open to receive all people in need or living on the street. In addition to providing breakfast, lunch and a place to wash ,we offer a family environment and psychological support. We are open throughout the morning and this time for them is a place and time for breathing and calm, a break from the hubbub of the street and the night.
The Comedor in recent months is facing several problems caused mainly by heavy rains that have worn the roof, from which water enters.
There is an urgent need to take action before the arrival of the winter season (which in Chile begins in June), when the rains could make the situation even worse, putting the Comedor at risk of forced closure.
Therefore, I ask you to donate even a small amount, to allow us to reach the stable amount for the cost of the work (4,000 euros). Thank you very much to those who will help us support this challenge!
