A new video intercom for Carla and the Raised Hands House.
Help me buy a new video intercom that will allow me to run the House independently, despite my severe disability.
My name is Carla and I live in Fossò (VE) in the House of Prayer and Welcome "Mani Alzate", of the Pope John XXIII Community, of which I am also the manager. I was born with a congenital disease (osteogenesis imperfecta) that led me to live in a bed and to be constantly assisted, but despite my situation I have always sought autonomy, often with the support of technology, to try to live peacefully and to be able to take care of the House of Prayer.
"Mani Alzate" since 1999, the year of its inauguration, hosts parish groups, scouts and people who want to live moments of prayer in a simple and essential way. In these years it has been a reference point for the territory and a safe haven where to find support and redemption for many people in difficulty, including single mothers with children.
This place means a lot to me... its name was chosen by Don Oreste Benzi before I moved here! This is not only the house where I live, but much more. It is a place where it is possible to be together in spirituality.
But to be able to take care of the house independently I need the technology that has helped me so many times. This is why I launched a fundraiser: to be able to buy a new video intercom that allows me, thanks to the connection with my smartphone, to directly manage all the calls, answer, open the gate of the entrance and facilitate the reception of many people in difficulty.
The cost is about € 2,000 because in addition to the new product there are also other installation costs:
- video intercom kit with camera and hands-free monitor;
- transformer and power supply for the system;
- labour for wiring, start-up, programming.
