A means of spreading justice

Hello to all, friends and friends. As many of you may know, I lived for almost a year in Cameroon, at a community created to combat recidivism and incarceration and for the social reintegration of street children, ex-convicts and young people in different conditions of vulnerability, through a path of re-education and socio-professional reintegration.During this year of Civil Service, we were faced with various difficulties related to travel, as to reach the prisons where we operated, the relevant Courthouses and the families of the received and detained boys, we were forced to use local means of transportation, such as motorcycle cabs, cabs and overcrowded buses, which are often unsafe or very slow, causing us to waste time that we could have used to meet the needs of the received and the needs of the boys being cared for in the prisons.Without our own means of transportation, it is impossible to carry out all activities in a concrete and optimal way: it is indeed impossible to attend the boys' hearings, which often take place on the same day in courts in two different cities; it is impossible to visit their families, who often live in isolated villages; it also becomes complicated to cope with the emergencies that can obviously happen in a house inhabited by almost forty people. The roads in Cameroon are mostly rough and unpaved, so when the rainy season comes it is almost unthinkable to be able to move around.I am a great believer in the potential of this project, I have experienced it and seen with my own eyes how it is changing people's lives, so I am asking you to help us meet this need. With your help we may be able to buy a safe and adequate vehicle.Thank you for your contribution,A hug, Carlotta

A means of spreading justice

Hello to all, friends and friends.

As many of you may know, I lived for almost a year in Cameroon, at a community created to combat recidivism and incarceration and for the social reintegration of street children, ex-convicts and young people in different conditions of vulnerability, through a path of re-education and socio-professional reintegration.

During this year of Civil Service, we were faced with various difficulties related to travel, as to reach the prisons where we operated, the relevant Courthouses and the families of the received and detained boys, we were forced to use local means of transportation, such as motorcycle cabs, cabs and overcrowded buses, which are often unsafe or very slow, causing us to waste time that we could have used to meet the needs of the received and the needs of the boys being cared for in the prisons.

Without our own means of transportation, it is impossible to carry out all activities in a concrete and optimal way: it is indeed impossible to attend the boys' hearings, which often take place on the same day in courts in two different cities; it is impossible to visit their families, who often live in isolated villages; it also becomes complicated to cope with the emergencies that can obviously happen in a house inhabited by almost forty people.

The roads in Cameroon are mostly rough and unpaved, so when the rainy season comes it is almost unthinkable to be able to move around.

I am a great believer in the potential of this project, I have experienced it and seen with my own eyes how it is changing people's lives, so I am asking you to help us meet this need. With your help we may be able to buy a safe and adequate vehicle.

Thank you for your contribution,

The fundraiser supports the project: A bus to be a voice for the last
Total project goal: 30.000 €

In Cameroon, the Pope John XXIII Community through its project "Never again minors in prison" prevents the incarceration of minors and promotes the reintegration of prisoners through training and social reintegration paths. Volunteers work in prisons, courts, and assist families of inmates and children living on the streets. To carry out these activities in a difficult environment, with bad roads and ineffective transportation, a suitable vehicle is needed. The cost is high: 30,000€. Let's help them achieve the goal!
