Here I am, experiencing what it means to weave Peace in the Comunidad de Paz de San José de Apartadó, in a geostrategic zone heavily under the control of illegal armed groups where the presence of Operation Dove - Nonviolent Peace Corps of the Pope John XXIII Community - protects its members in its difficult but inevitable movements in this precious piece of our Mother Earth.

Among the strategies I have come to know in this community struggle are food sovereignty as an alternative economic model to exploitation, the power of memory, the defense of Human Rights and the environment, a harmonious relationship with the earth and its creatures, and the preservation of life above all else, without compromise.

To pursue this fascinating project of community life under the banner of nonviolence, now more than ever there is a growing need to ensure continuity in international accompaniment for people affected by this difficult conflict context.
