In November 2022 I made my first trip to Lebanon with Operation Dove, which has been sharing lives and working alongside Syrian refugees for 10 years. Since then I have returned often. I did it again this time. A bit like coming home.

This return, however, has a special flavor.

In August we had to return to Italy because of the war between Lebanon and Israel and the change in security conditions. Since then we have been trying to return and finally now we have succeeded. We have arrived at a historic stage for Syrians. A regime that brought pain, death and destruction throughout the country has fallen after 54 years.

Many people are asking us what we are going to do now as volunteers and female volunteers. In the meantime, we are trying to better understand the situation "from the inside," certainly we are back to listen to stories and tales and share life with people, share their dreams and hopes. Because now Syrians can raise their heads again, return home and hope for a peaceful future.
