People walking together on 4 wheels!
Fundraising by Antonio Patruno
If I were asked what the Pope John XXIII Community's "Mother Teresa of Calcutta" halfway house here in Fasano is to me, I would answer that it is an HUG.
It is the embrace of a father who welcomes you when you have lost your way and no longer know where to go, it is the embrace that recomposes you when you feel broken, it is the embrace that knows how to let you go when, after the storm, you are ready to start again, and that encourages you to face new waves in the certainty of always having those two arms wide open ready to welcome you.
Our house is an important response for the many homeless, disabled or troubled people in the area because it is part of a network that sees the collaboration of different Associations that request our intervention. Very often people knock directly on our door and every yes that is said is a yes to life, to the dignity of each person, it is a yes that leads those who ask us for help to flourish again .
Now there are 7 of us in the house and our minibus, which we use to do the shopping, take the kids to visits and meetings, go to the people who are referred to us from the area or to get together as a family and go outings all together, has broken down and it is no longer possible to repair it (it left us stranded on the 1st of the year too!). So we decided to launch a fundraiser to help the Pope John XXIII Community with this expense. We found a used bus that costs 10,000€ and would be perfect for us but we cannot do it alone. We need the help of all of you, all of our friends and people who love us.
To help us, you too create a fundraiser to support this project and get your friends involved, or donate to my fundraiser. Either way, thank you for what you will do from all of us!
