I have been in Lebanon for more than a year now. The situation for Syrians has not changed, in fact it is getting worse and more wearisome. For 12 years they have been running away from war and now they live with the fear that another one will come.

A people who cannot find peace, a people who just want freedom, a people who just want to live....

In a few weeks it will be Christmas, for me it is the second one I have spent in the Tel Abbas refugee camp. More than ever I think it is important today to stand by these people, who now live forgotten by everyone and everything. Our presence, as volunteers from Operation Dove, is a way to give them back their dignity. Every day they thank us because we continue to be among them and do not leave them alone.

Christmas for me means life, sharing and hope.

And that is what we try to do every day with the Syrian refugees. We live together with them, sharing the hardships and difficulties, and trying to be a sign of hope.

You too can be a part of this Christmas, together with them, together with us.
