Together among the olive trees

Like every morning S. is sitting on the low wall that protects the land where he has planted his olive trees. We are sitting beside him, under the first rays of spring sunshine, and we are talking about the attacks by armed Israeli settlers that took place the night before among those very olive trees. The fence of his field is destroyed once again, and in the distance we see the same settler coming who shot him in the leg a few months ago.S. seems to get up to leave, but it is only to pick up a boulder and place it on his low wall, while his sons repair the fence with wires found in the field. We grab our cameras, ready to document yet another intimidation, aimed at making this family's life more and more difficult, like that of so many others we have encountered in recent months. S., however, continues to protect his olive trees and us alongside him.Operation Dove is this, a constant and active presence alongside the Palestinian community of Masafer Yatta. Volunteers accompany Palestinian families in their daily acts of nonviolent resistance: they share moments of community, spend the night in the most exposed villages that frequently suffer nighttime attacks, accompany farmers and shepherds on their land close to settlements and outposts, monitor and denounce the constant check-points, arrests, military training and demolitions that take place in the area, thanks to a constant activity of recording photo and video material. Behind those cameras are not only the volunteers of Operation Dove, but also all those who have decided and will decide to support the project and the Masafer Yatta community from afar.Thank you for your support!

Together among the olive trees

Fundraising by Sally e Nina

Like every morning S. is sitting on the low wall that protects the land where he has planted his olive trees.

We are sitting beside him, under the first rays of spring sunshine, and we are talking about the attacks by armed Israeli settlers that took place the night before among those very olive trees.

The fence of his field is destroyed once again, and in the distance we see the same settler coming who shot him in the leg a few months ago.

S. seems to get up to leave, but it is only to pick up a boulder and place it on his low wall, while his sons repair the fence with wires found in the field.

We grab our cameras, ready to document yet another intimidation, aimed at making this family's life more and more difficult, like that of so many others we have encountered in recent months.
S., however, continues to protect his olive trees and us alongside him.

Operation Dove is this, a constant and active presence alongside the Palestinian community of Masafer Yatta.

Behind those cameras are not only the volunteers of Operation Dove, but also all those who have decided and will decide to support the project and the Masafer Yatta community from afar.

The fundraiser supports the project: Operation Dove in Palestine - 2026
Total project goal: 15.000 €

Since 2002, volunteers from Operation Dove have been present in Palestine, first in the Gaza Strip, in Al Qarara (Khan Younis), then since 2004 in the West Bank, in the village of At-Tuwani (hills south of Hebron). Today more than ever, therefore, the presence of Operation Dove volunteers is essential: to protect the safety of the Palestinian inhabitants of the area, who just want to live on their own land.
