To Nalleli and Edison,

To the entire Peace Community.

I am returning to Colombia just days before the first anniversary of the massacre that took place last March 19. It will be a long and difficult journey, not so much because of the heat and mud we will find, but because of not seeing NALLELI and EDISON welcome us back to their home, we who as Operation Dove volunteers have shared a long and precious time of nonviolent struggle and resistance together.

But it is precisely together with them that we want to continue to be here.

Even if we do not see your faces again, even if we struggle to accept this death so violent, we will continue to speak your names, we will continue to talk about you, to remember your lives, to demand truth and justice, to stand by your side together with the Peace Community.

An ethical and moral duty.

For all humanity.

You too stand by their side.
