Dear friends, I have decided to activate an online fundraiser for a cause that touches me closely. Those who know me know that I am the manager of the "Santa Maria" home, which is a safe place for many women in distress - many with children - who need a place where they can feel protected after being abused or abandoned.I have chosen to live with them and to be their family, and like any normal family, we too have unplanned expenses that, however, we are unable to bear alone.A fundamental part of our daily routine is transportation. In some parts of Albania there is no public transportation service and it is we, with our car, who help the women move from one place to another and provide them with more protection.Unfortunately, our old 2002 Toyota, after passing so many kilometers on different roads, even unpaved ones, does not start anymore.We cannot afford to buy a new car but if we all join together we can do it! We are not asking for a new one, we would be fine with a used car but one that gives us safety and allows us to accompany the women taken in. I have chosen to live with them and to be their family, and like any normal family, we too have unplanned expenses that, however, we are unable to bear alone.

The fundraiser supports the project: A car for our family

"St. Mary's" is a Home where every woman receives listening, psychological and emotional support and a family as all should be: a place to be loved and not to feel fear. Many of the women taken in need to be accompanied but now the old car won't start anymore. We help the home buy a new car, essential for their daily lives.
