Birthday of the decade!
Fundraising by Ettore Bianchi
Agood 10 years ago began my personal experience with Operation Dove, the nonviolent peace corps of the Pope John XXIII Community. In 2013 many things were changing for me, I was leaving a well-known life for a new place, as happens to many. From my meeting with Operation Dove at that particular time I feel I received a great wealth, made up above all of the people I met.
To all of them, more or less close, far or far away, go my thoughts and gratitude. Thanks to the fact that we met, an imprint has remained in me that is more than just a memory. It may not be an obvious mark (although I would like it to be a little), but I find it every day or nearly every day in the way I think about what I can and cannot do with my own strength, in how I believe one can be whole by being part of something. In short, in how I see the world.
I am grateful for all of this and decided to start a fundraiser in support of Operation Dove to help all the volunteers in so many parts of the world who make possible the projects and the stories that can be born in them, the ideals and hopes.
That October 10 years ago brings me back to a house with two palm trees in Albania and a homemade cake, for my birthday and also to celebrate the power that had finally returned. I found in it a taste of meaning, a flavor of truth, and many other ingredients that to put in writing would be long, but if you want we can talk about it in person :-)
Thank you very much already to those who would like to support this project that is close to my heart.
