More war -- after 10 years
Fundraising by Corrado Borghi
It was November 2013 when I first went on a fact-finding trip to Lebanon, a couple of years after the outbreak of war.
10 years have passed, and still whole families with children live in plastic shacks without access to primary services , school and health care among all.
Ireturn in support of the group of Operation Dove-the nonviolent peace corps of the Pope John XXIII Community-which has been living in the camp since that November, to help people and the deeply tried Lebanese community.
There we support the most fragile families, facilitate humanitarian channels and help people with bureaucratic tasks, and finally we collect testimonies so that the voices of so many people who have fled the war can reach Italy and revitalize attention on a now forgotten conflict.
Now Syrian refugees and the many, many Palestinian refugees living in Lebanon fear that the escalation of the conflict in Israel and Palestine may spill over to them as well.
Now more than ever we need to stand with them.
Thank you for what you will do.
