Hi, we are Monica and Salvo, married for 22 years, have 3 natural children and are grandparents of 2 grandchildren! As many of you know, an autistic boy, a girl with severe cognitive retardation and a 13-year-old girl also live with us. Ours is a big family sharing life with the most fragile, to make them feel loved and safe. This vocation was born after meeting Don Oreste in 1998: we absolutely wanted to live following the last ones, as he taught us.In 2024 we chose to live the welcome within the Village of Joy in Forlì: other families like ours live here and children and young people are welcomed here together with their parents, to follow and support them in a path aimed at autonomy.The Village, you may have guessed, has lived "a lot of life" in these more than 10 years ! This is precisely why it now needs our support to meet several needs: repairing thecar provided to all the families, organizing training courses for the operators (essential to handle the most critical family situations), buying a new kitchen in one of the houses and replacing doors and windows, also in our house, which are essential to keep the houses warm and safe.15,000€ is needed to cover all these expenses. Each of us-who live this place every day-wants to do our part by trying to achieve, all together, this goal.
