Drinking water for the people of Turkana: not just for charity but for justice

The Lake Turkana region is one of the driest areas on the planet, particularly affected by climate change and the drought that has plagued all of northern Kenya for three years now. The people of this region are paying a price for which they are not responsible. One of the most serious consequences of the drought is the total absence of drinking water sources and pastures for animals, the only source of livelihood for these people. In order not to die of thirst, people dig small wells in the dry riverbeds from which trickles of non-potable water come out. People have no choice and thus expose themselves to various risks to their own health and that of their children.I have personally been to the region several times, where the Pope John XXIII Community has already started a food support project in schools since January, and in January, thanks to the intervention of a hydrogeologist, we identified two particularly vulnerable villages, Moite and Altuwo, where we can drill and equip wells for water. The cost for these works is €126,990.This is the only way to respond to this urgent need and thus obtain clean water for the population. It is a very expensive intervention but very important and necessary because it would give the people of these villages the right to water, which is fundamental for every human being and which the people living in these areas lack.I have decided to do my part by activating a personal fundraiser to contribute to the total amount, you can donate immediately to my fundraiser or multiply your help by activating a personal one of your own to send to your friends, just as I did.Together we can make a difference for these people. Helping them is not only a matter of charity but also and above all a matter of justice!

People have no choice and thus expose themselves to various risks to their own health and that of their children.

It is a very expensive intervention but very important and necessary because it would give the people of these villages the right to water, which is fundamental for every human being and which the people living in these areas lack.

The fundraiser supports the project: A well to stop thirst: let's help the people of Turkana
Total project goal: 126.990 €

The Turkana region of Kenya is facing one of the worst droughts in 40 years. People are forced to dig shallow holes in lake beds to search for water, but it is dirty and undrinkable, causing serious health problems, especially among children. The solution is the construction of wells that can provide potable water. The total cost of the work is €126,990. Everyone's support is needed to achieve this goal. Your help now is indispensable.
