Hi, we are Roberto and Sara, mom and dad of the Family House "Marta" of the Pope John XXIII Community. A few words to tell you more about us and why we are doing this fundraiser....
On September 4, 2024, we celebrated 30 years of marriage and next September 2025 we will celebrate 25 years of our Family Home. In this long journey we have experienced many joys for which we have to give thanks, but also many worries given by the suffering that the children and the people with whom we shared not only the walls of the house, but life, carried within.
The good fortune of having met Don Oreste Benzi and his great faith prompted us to commit ourselves to breaking down the barriers of mistrust and loneliness, succeeding in living alongside people with disabilities and giving them a family.
Today, however, we have other barriers to break down ... our little Federico - suffering from a very severe disability - needs our help.
The bathroom in our house is too small for his wheelchair, making the simplest actions, such as washing him, almost impossible. Every time Federico needs the bathroom, lacking the proper equipment and furnishings, all the daily gestures necessary for his care become exhausting.
Federico clings to life every day in an exemplary way , and we, with our love, try to make him feel loved and safe. Taking care of him, however, also means making the environment in which he lives suitable and adequate.
Please help us raise the €13,500 needed for the bathroom renovation, it is a major expense that we cannot bear alone but with the help of people who know and love us everything is possible!
