The Myriam family home in Nazareth, a reality of hospitality of the Pope John XXIII Community now needs your help to raise the €15,400 needed to purchase a car essential for carrying out all the daily activities of their large family. Help Lucia and Ilaria reach the goal!

Overcoming all difficulties through love and sharing
The Myriam di Nazareth family home is a welcoming reality of the Pope John XXIII Community opened in 2005 in Casarano, in the province of Lecce. The family home is run by Lucia and Ilaria, who after getting to know the Community were deeply impressed by the values of sharing and welcoming that they found there; these same values prompted them to dedicate their lives and energies to offering a safe haven and concrete support to those who need it most.

Their home, over the years, has offered welcome especially to mothers in need and expectant mothers, offering them a protected environment where they can give birth and raise their babies. People of different ages and backgrounds live together in the home: an expectant mother of a baby girl, two girls with cognitive retardation, a 16-year-old young girl, a 9-year-old boy and Lucia's 93-year-old mother. The permanent presence at lunch times of Don Dario, a member of the Community, is a fundamental help, as well as moral support.

A car to face busy days
In the house, the typical day is really varied and full of commitments: Lucia, in addition to taking care of the kitchen, grocery shopping and meetings with social services, every day, together with Ilaria, who also runs a restoration workshop, accompany the boys to school and the girls to play and leisure moments; they also take care of the expectant mother who needs regular medical checkups and other pregnancy-related attention.

In order to be able to carry out all these activities, since the family home is located in a small town where there is no public transportation, it is essential to have a car that can replace the one provided, which is now very worn and has problems with large oil leaks.

With your help it will be possible to raise the €15,400 needed to purchase the vehicle and give Lucia and Ilaria the opportunity to continue to be support for those in need.
