A well of hope for the family of Enzo and Orietta

The Family House "Mother Teresa" of the Pope John XXIII Community over the years has given shelter and love to drug addicts, alcoholics, people living on the streets, girls forced into slavery, teenagers, children, people with mental problems and prisoners. Now they need your help to raise the €17,000 the Community has advanced to build a new well so that water will always be available for the daily needs of the whole family. With your support we can help them achieve this goal.

Now they need your help to raise the €17,000 the Community has advanced to build a new well so that water will always be available for the daily needs of the whole family. With your support we can help them achieve this goal.

A daily battle for water
Enzo and Orietta are the father and mother of the Mother Teresa Family House, a shelter of the Pope John XXIII Community, located in Fiorenzuola d'Arda. Their family consists of 12 people: along with Enzo and Orietta live Don Adamo, a priest who also belongs to the Community, the last of their three natural children and six people, adults, young people and children regenerated in love.

Their Family House is located in open country, without the possibility of connecting to the aqueduct; this forced them to rely on an alternative water source. For 30 years they used an old well, but recently the latter-which is about 40 years old-has begun to cause various problems, forcing them to use jerry cans and bottles for daily needs, an unsustainable solution in the long run.

To make the water drinkable, Enzo and Orietta used a purification plant, which involved periodically performing expensive checks for potability.

Therefore, as soon as the opportunity arose, they built a new well that will soon give them access to drinkable water. The Pope John XXIII Community, as in a big family where we take care of each other, has anticipated the expenses but the needs of the more than 500 Family Homes are so many and Enzo and Orietta want to find the money to meet this expense themselves.

They need to raise €17,000 and with your support we can help them achieve this goal and give serenity and security to their life and family.

Enzo and Orietta's choice of love
Enzo and Orietta, after getting married and having their first child, despite having a seemingly perfect life of work, friends and commitment to volunteer work, began to feel that there was still a void to be filled. Meeting Don Oreste gave them the turning point: after listening to his words, something moved in their hearts. They felt a strong call, a deep need to expand their family and open the door of their home to those who needed it most.

By starting their Family Home, they were finally able to give meaning to their lives, taking in people with very painful histories over the years: drug addicts, alcoholics, people who lived on the streets, girls forced into slavery, teenagers, children, people with mental problems and even prisoners.

Your support is so important and will enable Enzo and Orietta to continue in their mission of giving a new life to those who need a second chance.
