A new minibus to change gear
Enzo and Anna Maria are fathers and mothers of the Santa Maria Goretti family home of the Papa Giovanni XXIII Community and their large family has an urgent need: a minibus that can replace the one that risks leaving them on foot overnight. Help them and we open as many roads as possible so that the new minibus can arrive thanks to your contribution!
Imagine moving around in a van that boasts 400 thousand kilometers driven, 18 years of travel and moving from northern to southern Italy.
Every time it is time to move there is hope that you will not be stranded!
Enzo and Anna Maria, father and mother of the Santa Maria Goretti Family Home of the Pope John XXIII Community know this well, and aboard this hope and their old van they continue to travel together with their large family.
Today there are 12 of them, but in 25 years of hosting, which began in Turin and has come to Termoli, there have been so many people loved and hosted: former alcoholics, ex-convicts, women who have been trafficked, expectant mothers, children and young people with disabilities or alone. Empty hands and dull eyes who find, in the home of Enzo and Anna Maria, a place to stay, the warmth of a family and a point of reference that will always accompany them.
But "accompanying" means "joining in the journey," and the road requires a means to travel it! Enzo and Anna Maria can no longer rely on the old bus because the heating doesn't work, when it rains water comes in, and there are constant drafts and noises. The time has come to switch gears!
For the needs of their large family, they have identified a new vehicle, a hybrid, that also addresses the concern they would like to have for environmental issues. The cost is €33,000. It is an expense that, at this time, the Pope John XXIII Community, which has to provide for the many needs of more than 500 sheltering realities, cannot sustain alone. This is why Enzo and Anna Maria, with their large family, need you!
