World Day of the Poor at the Vatican
The Bethlehem Huts and the welcoming realities of the Pope John XXIII Community welcome and help homeless people, offering them not only a roof over their heads and a bed to sleep in, but above all the warmth of a family and the chance to rebuild their lives. Now they need your help to raise the €8,000 needed to be able to accompany the welcomed people to the ninth World Day of the Poor to be held on November 16 at the Vatican and give them the opportunity to live an unforgettable experience.
On Sunday, November 16, the ninth edition of the "World Day of the Poor" will be held at the Vatican. For the people welcomed and helped by the Bethlehem Huts of the Pope John XXIII Community in Rimini, Forlì, Bologna and Cesena, this represents an opportunity of great significance.
In the year of the Jubilee, we want to offer 120 people living on the streets the unique opportunity to pass through the Holy Door in St. Peter's, a symbolic gesture and an experience of inclusion and deep faith.
For those who will participate, this trip is not just a simple outing but an extraordinary opportunity to have an experience that, otherwise, they would never have been able to undertake.
In fact, the expenses of the trip will be borne by the Pope John XXIII Community, which, like a big family, takes care of all the needs of the people it welcomes, not just the material ones. We, however, want to contribute to the financing of this trip that we will make together with the brothers with whom we share life, and we have opened this fundraiser to raise €8,000 needed to partially cover the cost of the trip.
With your support and solidarity, we are confident that we can give these people the opportunity to experience a truly unique and meaningful moment.
The Bethlehem Huts and the welcoming realities of the Pope John XXIII Community take in and help homeless people, who are offered not only a roof over their heads and a bed to sleep in, but above all the warmth of a family, through important moments of sharing such as dinner and dialogue, which slowly allow meaningful relationships to be established.
For those who arrive at the Hut, a road to rebirth opens up. Each person is accompanied in the construction of an individualized project that is not limited to temporary help, but aims at a true social reintegration, giving the possibility to get out of a condition of hardship and loneliness.
