The Family Home "St. John's" needs "energy"!
The Family House "St. John" of the Pope John XXIII Community in Boves, wants to install photovoltaic panels in their house: a concrete gesture for the environment but especially necessary for the people they have been welcoming for over 30 years. Help them too with a donation!
For more than 30 years, in the heart of Boves, the Family House "San Giovanni" has witnessed the concrete love of the Pope John XXIII Community that becomes a family for those who are alone. Enzo and Grazia, with generosity, have welcomed about 150 people into their home, including adults and children, each with a unique story. Some have stayed for a short time and some have found a safe haven here for years.
It is currently inhabited by 12 people, some of whom, with their disabilities, are an example of strength and a source of inspiration for all; others, with tenacity and hope, day after day try to build their path to independence.
Over the years the house has become a point of reference both for those who come simply to have a chat and for those who, on the other hand, find themselves in a time of difficulty and come to collect food or clothes.
Today, St. John's Family Home looks to the future with a new goal: the installation of a photovoltaic system on the roof. Twenty solar panels for a total of 8.6 KW of clean energy. A dream made possible also thanks to the support of the Bank of Boves and some generous friends who in total have already donated 5,500 euros.
But to complete the work and add a storage battery, essential to make the most of the energy produced, they need your help. The goal is to reach 8,000 euros. This is not only an investment for the environment and a saving on utility bills, but an act of love and care for the people who live in Enzo and Grazia's house.
The chain of solidarity has already been activated: the engineer and architect will work for free, as will the electrician for the installation. Those who will make the support structure will also offer the Family House a special price.
The installation of the panels is a necessary intervention for a house like theirs that accommodates so many people and, therefore, needs "a lot of energy"!
