Close to women and children to make a family together toward a better life

Githurai 45 is a neighborhood in Nairobi where I happened to be 3 years ago to accompany friends to see some projects of the Pope John XXIII Community. In the middle of the houses, behind the markets, there is a covered world -- an open-air hell. That's where we've been going every week since then, meeting hundreds of single mothers who are forced to sell themselves to try to give their children a better future. When we go inside the clubs where these women are prostituted I feel I enter a parallel world where the encounters are heartfelt, the hugs close and the tragic situations countless. Faces, eyes, handshakes... I am honored to be able to meet them and to be able to do a piece of the road with them doing vocational courses, psychological support, accompanying them in moments of sickness and in moments of joy, celebrating day after day their small successes in life. They are beautiful girls -- charged, even if wounded -- who make me savor a living encounter every day.The project created and built from their needs and requests helps us to try to create family with them on a daily basis also through the shelter that now houses 7 mothers with their wonderful children. Today I am here to ask you to support our mission: because thanks to your help we could continue to organize courses, to have a dedicated psychologist to go through their traumas and to accompany them through their often very serious illnesses. Health care and access to care here in Kenya is very difficult and expensive, and support in these cases is crucial to give them the health to face their daily challenges. The project is carried out by me together with local staff with whom we are growing together to try to fight more and more against the exploitation of women.Thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you donate.Other ways to donate:You can also donate by bank transfer or postal bulletin.IBAN: IT04 X030 6909 6061 0000 0008 036POSTAL ACCOUNT: 12148417Both payable to: Pope John XXIII Community AssociationReason to specify: 24R014 support Amini Home Kenya

The fundraiser supports the project: Amini Home: a project to support women victims of prostitution
Total project goal: 20.000 €

The "Amini Home" project was established in March 2023 in the Nairobi district of Kenya, where hundreds of women every day prostitute themselves on the streets or in clubs in order to survive and provide necessities for their children. In order to rescue them and enhance the services offered, €20,000 is needed. Your help is essential to achieve this important goal. Thank you!
