A new kitchen for our family
Hi, everyone!! We’re Caterina and Bruno. We’ve been a foster family for 23 years, welcoming children, teens, and adults who need a family. Our open family is called the Holy Family of Nazareth, named after the church that hosts us—in fact, we’ve been living in our parish’s rectory since 2010. The house is located in Pessione, a hamlet of the town of Chieri in the province of Turin. Currently, there are 8 people living in our family: in addition to us and our two biological children, aged 26 and 23, there is also a 16-year-old girl with a severe physical and cognitive disability, a 30-year-old adult with autism, and two adult sisters who joined our family four years ago. For us, the kitchen is one of the most important rooms in the house—a place where we prepare meals together, involving everyone; a place of togetherness and connection; and a place where we welcome everyone who comes to our home by offering them coffee or something tasty. We really enjoy cooking together while listening to some music and creating dishes that are not only delicious but also beautiful. However, our kitchen is quite old and needs to be renovated to make it even more functional and safe. We need to upgrade the electrical and plumbing systems, replace the flooring, and buy new cabinets to store everything we need for cooking. That’s why we’re asking for your help to raise the funds needed for this work. We thank you in advance for whatever you’re able to donate!

Bruno and Caterina are the father and mother of the Casa Famiglia Sacra Famiglia of Nazareth, a welcoming reality of the Pope John XXIII Community, which for more than 20 years has been giving love welcoming boys in difficulty, often with disabilities. Now they need your help to raise the €25,000 needed to renovate the kitchen and offer their kids a safe environment where they can share emotions and build precious new memories.

With great joy and deep gratitude, we want to share this photo of our new kitchen with all of you. Thanks to your contributions and some money we had set aside for this project, we were able to complete all the work. The new kitchen is beautiful and functional, and it will allow us to prepare meals to share with our family and many friends.

Work is moving forward!

Two weeks after work began, we’re starting to see the first results! We have a new floor, the walls have been plastered, and the electrical system has been installed.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been setting up a temporary kitchen in another room of the house so we can keep cooking and going about our daily lives. We’d like to thank the construction company that’s carrying out the work with care and precision.
And of course, we’d like to thank all of you who are helping to make this dream a reality. See you soon with more updates!

Thanks to you we reached almost 40% of the total project goal!
With your contribution we were able to start the kitchen renovations that will allow us to replace the floor, knock down a small wall and redo the fixtures.
