Why do I support this project?

Because there are places that are not just walls and roofs, but hearts that beat.

Because I have had the good fortune to personally know the people of the Family Home "Aquila and Priscilla," and I assure you that they dedicate their lives to those who, alone, would not make it.

I support this project because there live children who have already known abandonment, single mothers trying to start over, people with disabilities who every day fight for something we take for granted: to be seen, loved, welcomed.

I support this project because I cannot remain indifferent knowing that that house today lacks a proper air conditioning system, and that an old bus - often broken down - is the only means of taking children to school, people with disabilities to medical appointments, families to look for work.

And because I know what it means to have to choose between surviving and living with dignity.

I support this project because it is right.

Because every human being has a right to a peaceful breath, a safe journey, a place to call home.

And I also support it for me. To remind me that solidarity is the most concrete form of hope.

That with a small gesture we can make room in someone else's life.

And that no one should face pain alone.
