When I arrived here I found no dazzle, no revelation to welcome me.

Nothing that could serve to effectively tell, with catch-phrases, the reality that is lived here, in the Peace Community of San José de Apartadó.

What I found instead was a path, with the rhythms of a way of life, that of the campesinos, which stubbornly survives the massacres, threats and attempts to steal land that the Community has been facing for almost thirty years.

It is a path of defending Rights, their own as well as everyone else's, that no one should be forced to walk but that the members of the Community carry on for us as well, even when we do not know it.

In this journey, metaphorical and literal, never more than now do they need the presence of realities like Operation Dove (Nonviolent Peace Corps of the Pope John XXIII Community), the protection that the international gaze can offer.
