For Rights and Land: support the Dignity of the Mapuche People.
Fundraising by Anna Rosato
In these first few months spent in Chile, I have been able to experience firsthand the injustices that the Mapuche people suffer. he Mapuche people, whose name means "people of the land" (mapu: land; che: people), and reflects the symbiotic bond they have with their territory, are one of the oldest indigenous communities in South America, have been experiencing a condition of injustice that has persisted for centuries. They face daily human rights violations, including the disproportionate use of preventive detention and the exploitation of their ancestral lands.
Despite the ratification of ILO Convention 169, which protects the rights of indigenous peoples, its implementation remains problematic. The Mapuche continue to demand dialogue and recognition of their claims, but often face institutional repression that further marginalizes them.
This fundraiser stems from my desire to combat these injustices by supporting this project of Operation Dove, which aims to promote fundamental rights, the dignity of the Mapuche people and above all raising awareness this issue that unfortunately continues to lack proper attention, not only in countries as far away as Italy, but not even in Chile.
With your help, we can turn the spotlight on this cause and help build a more equitable future for a people who deserve respect, recognition and rights.
Join me in this mission: together we can make a difference.
