In the same mud light for all mankind
Fundraising by Erica Tenca
I am receiving the gift of finding myself once again walking in the same mud as the peasants and peasant women of the Comunidad de Paz de San Josè de Apartadó in Colombia who despite death threats, having collected the bodies and cleaned the blood of comrades, brothers and sisters, slander and mystification of reality, despite the impossibility of glimpsing a future different from this crushed present, persevere on the path of Justice, Truth and Peace. By making custody of the Common House through nonviolent resistance to war and forced displacement they build an alternative life project to the one presented to us as the only one possible.
In the Comunidad de Paz process, international accompaniment is crucial as a survival strategy as a deterrent to violence, monitoring and witnessing. The presence of Operation Dove - Nonviolent Peace Corps of the association Comunità Papa Giovanni XXIII has been accompanying since 2009 at the request of the CoP itself.
I am called for the third time as an accompanist to share with these "giants of the soul," light for all humanity, in the simplicity of the everydayness that brings one closer to the truth of life. An everydayness of sweat, rice, beans, corn, cocoa, courage, choosing, sacrificing, giving of oneself, giving of oneself.
Thank you for letting this life storygo through you so far away but so close.
Thank you for supporting the accompanying project with a donation.
Thank youfor talking about it, let's break the silence.
